Dear Margaret Elizabeth “Peggy” Carter,
I am writing this letter to tell why you are my superhero in spite of not having
any fancy superpowers. You are a symbol of strength, justice, and truth. In a
very short time, you influenced me a lot. I have never seen you fear defeat or death for that matter. Please recommend me some of your energy drinks and fitness secrets. I can’t get enough of your comic timing, fight sequences, and accent. I must say I really didn’t expect you to be dancing so well in Little Song and Dance.
You assisted Steve Rogers, my favorite hero in becoming the world’s first superhero – Captain America. As an agent of the Strategic Scientific Reserve, you helped Howard Stark clear his name when he was accused of being a traitor, You taught me how far we can go to help our friends in need. I have never been a fan of action, but lately seeing you thrashing bad guys without weapons or fancy serums has been a lovely experience. Despite surrounded by silly sexist men who underestimate your value, you don’t give them a damn and go behind their backs to solve crimes much faster than they can.
“I know my value. Anyone else’s opinion doesn’t really matter.”
It’s a powerful statement indeed.
Just like your elder brother, I have mine who always wants me to follow my dream/ thoughts/ decisions. He never wants me to settle for good, but strive for the best. Like yours, my brother always believes that I have the potential for greater things in life. Your influence on Steve is truly inspiring. I totally believe Steve relied totally on you, just like they say there is a woman behind every man’s success. It was saddening to see you affected by Alzheimer’s disease and finding it difficult to talk with the love
of your life when he finally returns alive after a long time.
I don’t want to flatter you, but let me say a few things.
See, without you, there would be no Iron Man. You saved the life of Howard Stark, Tony Stark’s father, so no Peggy implies no Tony. Captain America might also have been stuck as the lean good for nothing Steve Rogers, as you rescued Abraham Erskine, the creator of Cap’s serum, from the Nazis. Along with Howard Stark, you went on to found SHIELD, the organization that would give rise to Nick Fury and the Avengers. You have also convinced Hank Pym to become the first Ant-Man. Without you, the world would have never have been the same.
Peggy Carter, you are my superhero!!
Don’t forget you still owe Cap a dance.
Thanks & Regards,
D.
